Our Team

Robert Haden, Attorney

Robert Haden was born and raised in the Central Valley. After graduating from Merced High School in 1964, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico, where he received both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. He then graduated from Golden Gate College of Law in San Francisco in 1980.


After graduating from law school, Robert returned to Merced and, with his wife, Justice Betty Dawson, now retired from the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Fresno, and joined his father’s law practice. Robert’s practice areas include business law, real estate matters and estate planning.


Robert is also very involved in the Merced community. He served on the Merced College Board of Trustees for 16 years, has served on the board of Central California Legal Services, twice as president, and is currently a member of the Merced County Assessment Appeals Board. He is also a current member and past president of the Merced County Bar Association and is a former City of Merced Planning Commissioner.

Emily Haden, Attorney

Emily Haden, Attorney

Emily Haden is a native Mercedian. She graduated from Merced High in 1999 and from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin in 2003 with degrees in history and Spanish. Emily returned to California in 2005 and graduated with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in Sacramento in 2009. 


Emily, a sixth-generation attorney, joined her father in practice in 2010. Her practice areas include business law, with a focus on contract negotiation, estate planning and probate, and real estate. 


Emily has served as president of the Merced County Bar Association and the Merced County Law Library. She is the current president of the Merced County Fair Board, the incoming Vice President of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Merced County, and is a member of Merced Boosters.

Debra K. Crisp, Legal Assistant

  

Debra “Debbie” Crisp is a native Californian and spent the majority of her youth in Los Banos, graduating from Los Banos High School in 1973. She later received an Associate of Arts in Social Science from Merced College and also received training in paralegal studies through U.C. Davis. Debbie brings to Haden Law Office approximately 40 years of legal experience which includes personal injury, workers’ compensation, unlawful detainers, contracts, family law, education law, conservatorships and guardianships, wills, trusts and probate.
